Job description

Meraki Talent are exclusively engaged on the role of Finance Business Partner - Commercial for a retail business based in Perth. The role is offering a salary of up to £55,000 per annum plus bonus and additional benefits.

**The Opportunity**

The business has grown significantly in recent years, both organically and via acquisition. It benefited greatly from the recent global pandemic which led to an increase in demand for its products. This has subsequently led to the requirement for a Finance Business Partner - Commercial to join its high calibre finance function.

The role will give the successful individual the opportunity to be involved in driving the business' commercial performance via analysis and affective business partnering. Moreover, said individual will manage a small team of assistant commercial accountants, as well as getting involved in ad hoc projects including systems and process improvement initiatives.

You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties:

- Responsible for the effective preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and provision of information to allow preparation of statutory annual accounts
- Ensures the appropriate financial framework, including financial accounting, management accounting and control systems are in place to guide decision making
- Management of P&L and variance analysis understanding and reporting
- Proactively manages and advise on cashflow, asset management, cost control and stock control ensuring that target and limits are achieved
- Comprehensive monthly presenting of financial results highlighting key messages
- Accounting and management information systems are appropriate, accurate and effective. Contribute to the future finance system processes and MI design requirements
- Audit process and investigations
- Support team needs, and coordinate cross-functional efforts, as needed to ensure efficient business processes are in place
- Support the Group working capital management, to optimise our cash management
- Management of a small team of Assistant Accountants
- Good understanding of active projects

**The Person**

The successful person will be a qualified accountant and will come from one of two profiles:

- Currently working within an accountancy practice and, having recently qualified, is looking to take the first step into an industry role.
- Currently working in a similar role in industry and commerce and looking for a new role to progress their career.

It is not essential that the successful individual has previous management experience. The business are happy for someone to step into this role, as long as they are keen to pursue a career in management.
