**Your new role**:
This is a key role within our Maritime Sustainment program, supporting the Royal Australian Navy's ANZAC Class frigates in ongoing upgrades and achieving outstanding results in the delivery of materially seaworthy warships and support systems.

You will be the management focal point for all detailed design work undertaken by Drafting Office resources operating within the applicable Maritime Engineering business unit.

Reporting to the Program Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:

- Drafting and detailed design resources operating inside the Anzac Project within the Maritime Sustainment Business Unit, which has two drawing offices located in Melbourne and Perth.
- Delivering drafting detail design, modelling and drafting services in support of engineering design activities undertaken by the Maritime Sustainment Line of Business.
- Undertaking travel as required to ensure delivery of said scopes and strategies.
- Developing drafting capability through Training, Coaching or Mentoring of Drafting team Members as defined by the development plans owned by the individual team members.
- Managing drafting utilisation (over or under capacity) through active engagement with the PEM, Engineering Team leads and customer facing business units.
- Actively pursue and deliver Anzac Project business improvement initiatives.

About you

**As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Demonstrated experience in Team Leadership, Control Account Management and Team Management of a mid-sized project (10-50 people).
- Proven experience in managing a technical group in multiple locations to deliver technical outcomes using project management skills and experience to schedule tasks, assign resources and monitor progress against defined requirements.
- Drafting qualification such as Technical Certificate in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Desirable experience in Design toolsets (AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Inventor).
- A working knowledge of drawing office processes, procedures and tools.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Clearances
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.

International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
