**Job Description**:
The role

Our growing Transport and Infrastructure business has an industry-leading reputation to deliver Transport Infrastructure design across State Government, municipal, and private sector with focus on MRPV, NELA and SRLA Projects.

The position of Lead Civil Drafter will work closely with our Transport Infrastructure team and work closely on significant major infrastructure projects.

Your responsibilities will include
- Participate in short and long-term planning and make independent decisions on drafting/ design policies and procedures within an overall program.
- Supervise drawings / designs using standard methods and techniques. (PTV, VicRoads, Council standards)
- Complete drafting documentation in accordance with procedures
- Operate CAD, MicroStation and other drafting/design computer programs
- Complete, review and validate design drawings and documentation
- Lead, guide and manage a team of drafters and identify opportunities to develop staff
- Plan project resources and business unit resource needs in consultation with business unit leader.

About you

Your key attributes essential for success in this position include:

- Tertiary qualifications in Drafting or Engineering and/or relevant equivalent work experience
- Experience in the operation of software design tools such as AutoCAD packages and MicroStation
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Ability to solve problems utilising existing procedures
- Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability work well in a team environment.
- Commitment to self-improvement and continuing professional development
