Risk Manager, Credit Valuations

**How will I help?**

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Westpac Group’s Credit Risk Team as a Risk Manager, where you will have the chance to provide specialist industry expertise to support the Group’s Retail businesses.

This position will help drive valuation quality and compliance through effective valuation reviews, control testing, regular reporting and feedback both to internal and external stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

- Maintaining robust compliance framework and carry out regular audit reviews across all residential valuation types to ensure compliance with bank policy, valuation methodology and industry requirements, including produce ongoing reporting to identify valuation risk and engage with suppliers directly to ensure mitigation.
- Identify and implement policy or process improvements with the aim of reducing overall valuation risk and ensure key internal valuation controls are met through ongoing audits and process adherence.
- Support internal stakeholders with an emphasis on educating the broader teams around valuation methodology and industry standards whilst still collaboratively work with a team first mentality across the valuation chain to ensure a great outcome for the customer while managing appropriate risk appetite.

**What do I need?**

You’ll bring knowledge of complex valuation methodology within the valuation industry and have exposure across a range of asset classes (particularly residential mortgage).

You have a proven record of engaging stakeholders at all levels, with the ability to influence outcomes and collaborate for shared success. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, would be essential to success in this role as would the ability to take complex information and present it in a simplified format.
