Team Leader

**How will I help?**

As a Team Leader you will be a key Member of the Mortgage Operations Team and your role is paramount in contributing to Westpac vison by leading and inspiring a team of 15 - 18 Credit Assessors to learn, develop and continually grow to deliver effective outcomes that ensure the right solutions for our customers and maximise commercial outcomes for the business.

The Team Leader is responsible for actively managing the people, workflow, compliance, and regulatory obligations. As the Team leader, you will encourage continuous improvement and a strong customer focus in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, whilst effectively empowering Credit Assessors to manage their career development.

**What do I need?**

We would expect you to be an experienced operational leader, ideally within the banking and finance industry. The key focus of this role is to lead, coach and develop a specialised team advocating high-performing culture in a complex and fast paced environment. Furthermore, as the Team Leader you will be critical in the delivering of exceptional service within agreed timelines by utilising your extensive leadership experience, partnering skills and strategic mindset.

**As well as this, you will**:

- Have proven leadership experience ideally managing a specialist team in a fast-paced environment
- Confident problem solver, able to make sound, risk-based decisions.
- Be able to utilise business metrics to manage operations and drive efficiency
- Have a strong operational background, within a high-volume, fast paced environment ideally in the banking and finance industry
- Demonstrate ability to lead and manage change and Continuous Improvements within the team and foster collaboration across all key stakeholders
- Previous lending or credit assessor experience would be favourable.
