- Ensure that MLex’s coverage is the most detailed, accurate and timely in Australia and New Zealand.
- Constant and daily interaction with editors and MLex’s global team of reporters to ensure local content features prominently in global features.
- In-depth reporting on key policy areas. This may involve extensive research with a view to breaking stories relevant to MLex’s policy coverage.
- Regularly breaking stories that haven’t been reported elsewhere in Australian or international media.
- Willingness to participate in MLex’s weekly podcast if required.
What’s in this role for you?
- Be part of a supportive, collaborative and passionate editorial team and a corporate culture that invests in its people and prioritises wellbeing.
- Be a member of a global reporting team with an exciting and engaging long-term career path.
- Flexible working conditions with no weekend work, promoting a healthy work/life balance.
- Training and upskilling provided for editorial and technical skills.
- Exciting career and personal development opportunities.
- An excellent opportunity to work with one of the major providers in legal research and technology solutions.
- Your birthday is a bonus holiday every year, plus 2 volunteering days off, as well as a “picnic day” off each year
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism and/or law with 1+ years’ journalism experience, or equivalent in a related field.

- Sound understanding of Australian and New Zealand legislative processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Organised, able to prioritise and meet deadlines.
