**The Company**

**The Role**
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Payroll Officer/Manager to join a rapidly expanding childcare business. This role will be report to the Financial Controller and CFO. The core responsibilities will include:

- End to end payroll processing each fortnight
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulation
- Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of each payroll
- Maintain accurate and up to date employee, award and headcount by employment status and type (c. 1,100 permanent staff and up to 400 casual staff).
- Process ad-hoc and one off payments
- Maintain and monitor leave balances and entitlements
- Calculate ordinary time earnings, Superannuation, Payroll tax and PAYG
- Calculation and reporting Workers Compensation Claims and payments
- Monthly reconciliations and recharges from an entity level to a centre level
- Regular management report preparation including analysis and commentary
- Respond to employee enquiries and FAQs.

**Essential Criteria**
The successful applicant will ideally possess the following:

- Experience performing the above responsibilities in a similar role
- Understand employment related accounting principles
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and autonomously
- Ability to adhere to strict timeframes for payroll processing
- Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deliver on processing payroll deadlines
- Good communication skills and excellent phone manner
- Experience with CloudPayroll and easyEMPLOYER highly regarded
