**Our client is a highly successful large organisation, based in Brisbane. Reporting to Head of Safety in a small WHS team, this role will provide technical advice and support regarding Work Health and Safety (WHS) systems in addition to supporting the development of enterprise WHS policies and frameworks and providing generalist guidance and support regarding WHS matters within the organisation.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Some of the key responsibilities of this permanent full-time position include:

- Supporting a culture of WHS best practice and continuous improvement in alignment with legislative requirements.
- Facilitating safety management systems (SMS) continuous improvement.
- Leading simplifying the SMS processes without losing WHS risk management effectiveness.
- Developing Management System Standards and Policies.
- Facilitating or participating in audits both internally and externally.
- Assisting to design and implement effective digital business processes.
- Leading investigations into significant incidents/near misses as assigned.
- Supporting achievement of ISO accreditation.
- Coaching colleagues in investigation and reporting methodologies and peer reviewing incident reports, providing technical guidance on root cause analysis and report writing.
- Designing and developing WHS training packages.
- Leading SMS and culture improvement and implementation projects across the business.
- Engaging with people across the business to educate and lead the management of WHS obligations to ensure employees work in a safe environment.
- Supporting WHS consultative frameworks.
- Identifying risks, developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies and monitoring outcomes in accordance with the company’s risk management framework.

**ABOUT YOU**
- Bachelor’s degree in WHS, Graduate Diploma in WHS, Diploma in WHS at a minimum.
- Strong behavioural based safety and critical risk management experience.
- Highly proficient in using digital health & safety platforms, including experience in Health & Safety digital process, workflows and notifications.
- Highly developed incident investigation, root cause analysis and report writing skills.
- Experience in simplifying WHS business processes without losing risk management effectiveness.
- Ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate in external and internal environments.
- Comprehensive understanding of health and safety business processes.
- Results driven ability to overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve success.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
