The Health Surveillance Unit (HSU) within Occupational Health (OH) division of Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) is responsible for the administration of the Coal Mine Workers' Health Scheme (Scheme), protecting the health of Queensland coal mine workers by ensuring they undergo compulsory health assessments and undertaking group health surveillance.
As a Manager within HSU, you will provide guidance, motivation and support to your Team Leaders and those within their teams, allowing them to deliver high quality services across a range of functions including data processing, systems implementation and management, stakeholder engagement and support and data surveillance and analysis.
You will provide policy, program and coordination support to the Director to shape HSU's input to whole-of-agency, whole-of-government and national frameworks related to occupational disease prevention, detection and support.
- Providing timely, accurate and expert advice to senior leadership on the status of, and risks to, key business deliverables and projects.
- Providing practical and strategic support and leadership to ensure business priorities are delivered whilst maintaining positive workplace culture.
- Managing and delivering customer support.
- Understanding legislative and policy frameworks.
- Preparing complex, detailed and accurate correspondence including briefing notes, reports, submissions and written responses to stakeholders.
- Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Presenting at forums on behalf of OH and RSHQ.
- Oversee a program of continuous improvement to streamline business functions.
- Operational business and workforce planning.
