About the Role
The purpose of this role is to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing needs of the organisation are met, and their leaders are appropriately engaged in health safety and wellbeing.
Reporting into the Principal, Safety Operations - Facility Based Care and Services, this role will provide specialist advice and support for operational health, safety and wellbeing matters. This role will also support (and be supported by) both the Safety Operations team and the wider Health, Safety and Wellbeing team.
- Lead and/or participate in investigating incidents or allegations as directed and provide reports and recommendations.
- Educate and influence stakeholders to support implementation of HSW strategy and practices.
- Participate as a member of a work team by building and maintaining cooperative relationships and contribute to quality improvement activities.
- Develop and deliver HSW training programs, workshops, in-services and presentations.
- Monitor and report on information management systems including safety inspections, health management, fire training, evacuation, hazardous materials and incident management.
- Coordinate and implement audit programs, fire and safety inspections as required at the facility, division and departmental level.
- Foster a commitment to health safety and wellbeing in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
- While not mandatory relevant qualification and/or experience in the area of Health, Safety and Wellbeing or relevant discipline would be highly regarded.
