**The Role**
Are you looking for an opportunity in a challenging and highly complex enterprise? An exciting opportunity exists for a junior project manager to join the new Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office (SDACSPO) to work on the Overhead Persistent Infrared capability (OPIR).

The OPIR Deputy Sustainment Manager will be responsible for liaising with all levels of the CoA product team and wider stakeholder community in order to manage and coordinate day to day availability of the capability.

This position requires knowledge and appropriate experience in managing small engineering projects, short term budgets and schedules.

Occasional travel to remote locations may be required.

**About our Team**
Space Domain Awareness and Control Systems Program Office (SDACSPO) organisationally sits in the Space Systems Branch, under Air Defence and Space Systems Division in the Capability Acquistion and Sustainment Group (CASG).

The Systems Program Office manages Space Domain Awareness and Control in-service capabilities and capabilities in acquisition, engaging with local, regional and international enterprise partners and suppliers, consisting of both foreign governments and industry, to provide support to the Capability Manager. This demands a strong understanding of domestic and international space domain government frameworks and controls within the team.

The SDACSPO team comprises of professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel.

The team works from offices at Defence Science and Technology Edinburgh in Adelaide and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.

SDACSPO is seeking a highly motivated Project Manager interested in delivering strategically significant capability to the ADF.

As part of this role you will be responsible for the following activities:

- Accountable to contribute to the development and maintenance of product planning and performance processes in accordance with agreed procedures and performance standards.
- Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence and reports including submissions for committee consideration.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders and understand their expectations and concerns.
- Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
