This role is located within the Compliance Program team, this team manages the delivery of the PAS/DPAS programs as well as other compliance programs for Fire Safety and Change of Use. Key Activities include the confirmation of list of sites to be incl. In program, PAS/DPAS delivery through IT systems (4000 surveys per month), QA of 10% of surveys on random sample, receiving enquiries and requests and the triage requests to other Housing Portfolio teams for responses.
Main responsibilities involved planning and conducting Quality Assurance (QA) and onsite audit inspections on range of capital and recurrent programs such as Property Assessment Survey (PAS), Detailed Property Assessment Survey (DPAS), Fire Safety Program across NSW, and the issuance of audit findings and reports, including close-out with relevant service providers as part of continuous improvement. The role requires statewide travel including overnight stay where necessary, for the purposes of onsite audits.
**What you’ll do**
In your role, you will meticulously plan and execute QA site and desktop audits across NSW using a combination of computer-aided auditing techniques (CAAT) and traditional methods. Your responsibilities include generating audit reports to identify non-compliances.
To ensure a systematic approach, you will prepare audit plans using data stratification and sample extraction methods, coordinating inspection schedules and organising access appointments promptly. Closing out audit findings involves collating and summarising outcomes to liaise with relevant Service Providers according to the Performance Management Framework (PMF) of relevant contracts.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in training and accrediting external service providers, ensuring consistent and thorough resource inductions to meet program objectives at high standards. Providing advice to develop and issue Clarification and Practice notes to Service Providers on compliance and upgrade programs is part of your role, aiming to clarify requirements and ensure consistency.
As a specialist, you will offer guidance on internal control and actively participate in enhancing internal audit standards and practices within Housing Portfolio. Lastly, you will provide advice, reports, and feedback on compliance issues to key stakeholders in a manner that contributes to positive relationship building and supports an ongoing effective and efficient working environment.
**What we’re looking for**
- Sound understanding of data, analysis and reporting (particularly synthesis of large volumes of data into readily understood information).
- High level skills in computer packages such as Excel and with specialist software used for computer-aided auditing (such as Business Objects or SAS).
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
