This is a role where you will actively contribute to providing strategic, innovative, and accountable leadership within the Strategy and Systems Team to ensure that Council achieves its goals and performance targets in relation to Health, Safety and Wellbeing.

**Responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Respond to opportunities to improve the efficiency of current service delivery by promoting mechanisms to encourage customer feedback for continuous improvement of People and Culture services.
- Provide professional advice and coordinate a systematic, priority-based approach to progress the ongoing development of Health, Safety and Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS).
- Identify and develop elements of the HSWMS for whole of business based on organisational needs.
- Review elements of the HSWMS for whole of business based on feedback and document management requirements.
- Facilitate and collate consultation for HSWMS elements and provide updates as deemed necessary.
- Maintain elements of the HSWMS in accordance with document and record management requirements.
- Communicate updates and changes to elements of the HSWMS to whole of business through approved communication channels using approved communication methods.
- Undertake reporting including statistical analysis, metrics and measurement (specifically the ability to deliver quality reporting).
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and deliver on health, safety and wellbeing objectives.
- Represent, participate and coordinate audit activities in relation to elements of the HSWMS with external parties in relation to maintaining our self-insurance.

**About you**:

- Well-developed knowledge of HSW management and compliance requirements
- Tertiary qualifications (Degree or Advanced Diploma) in work health and safety
- Detailed knowledge of current Work Health & Safety and Worker's Compensation and Rehabilitation legislation, regulations, codes, standards and guidelines.
- Accredited WHS Lead Auditor qualification.
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (highly desirable)
- Certificate IV Project Management (highly desirable)
- Strong project management and reporting skills.
- Sound working knowledge in leading investigations, audits, risk assessments, policy development, systems management and delivering strategic H&S objectives and targets.
- Knowledge of National Self Insurer WHS Audit Tool. (Highly desirable)
