**Description**:
About the role
Are you passionate about Indigenous maternity care, advocating for families involved in the Child Safety system, and you’re ready for a rewarding and impactful challenge? If yes, we would love you to join the ATSICHS Brisbane Team.
You will enjoy partnering with and supporting a passionate and driven team of professionals in the development of this innovative evidence-based model of care. Responsible for providing specialist level advocacy and Family Led Decision Making support and referrals to expectant mothers, you will be at the forefront of reducing Child Safety interventions with our families. You are passionate about our community and making a real difference, and enjoy supporting a team of passionate and inspired midwives to deliver the service.
Birthing in Our Community (BiOC) offers a new model of maternity care that provides comprehensive and culturally informed maternal and infant health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. Supports within the service include access to dedicated Family Support Workers, Case-load Midwifery care, post-natal clinics.
Duties
Identification of families who require advocacy and wellbeing support, specifically relating to Child safety involvement.
Develop and action in-depth holistic family case plans to address support needs.
Facilitate and lead FLDM, practice panels, and other relevant meetings.
Lead case management reviews internally and externally, ensuring fidelity to the program model of care.
Provide brief interventions to address Child safety concerns.
Attend appointments and meetings for the families as required.

**Skills and Experiences**:
COVID-19 Requirements
- Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine.
Required
Current Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Health, Allied Health, Youth Work, Community Services, Family Intervention or Criminology with 4 years’ relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support or related field.
OR
Current Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Child and Family, Allied Health, Youth Work, Child and Family Intervention with 5 years’ relevant experience in family support, child protection, youth support or related field.
AND
With at least 3 years of abovementioned experience in a case management role.
Skills and Knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with Child Safety legislation and frameworks.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the factors contributing to vulnerability, disengagement, and intergenerational trauma of client group.
Demonstrated knowledge and ability to provide behaviour change interventions that build client self-awareness and active change in achieving their identified goals.
Demonstrated ability to work with the whole-of-family, irrespective of primary client, in meeting the totality of family needs.
Experience with case management for high risk and/or crisis clients, with high-level planning and organisational skills.
Knowledge of the supports available to target clients in the areas of mental health, substance misuse, education, employment, and housing.
Current Blue Card (Essential prior to commencement).
Current Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening).
Current National Police Check.
Current C Class Drivers Licence (Qld) and the ability to travel daily around SEQ.
Preferred
Experience in a clinic setting and an understanding of the cycle of care patient system.
Flexibility to work outside 8:30am-5pm business hours in meeting individual client needs and provide responsive care.
