Logan Central, Queensland, Australia Davidson Full time $120,000 - $140,000 per year

About the Organisation

Logan Water plays a critical role in providing safe, reliable and sustainable water and wastewater services to more than 350,000 residents across the City of Logan.

Guided by a vision to be
Reliable, Sustainable and Committed
, Logan Water is on an exciting journey - modernising its operating model, reshaping how services are delivered, and bringing teams together in our new, purpose-built facilities.

This is an organisation with a
strong sense of community and purpose
. Our people are passionate about delivering essential services that genuinely make a difference, and we take pride in being part of a values-led, future-focused business.

Health, safety and wellbeing are deeply embedded priorities
- championed at the executive level and reflected in every part of the business. For a WHS leader who wants to shape strategy in a maturing, forward-thinking organisation, this is a rare and meaningful opportunity.

About the Role

As the Principal Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor, you'll champion a proactive, people-centred safety culture across Logan Water.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this senior role leads WHS strategy, drives continuous improvement, and partners with operational and corporate leaders to embed health, safety and wellbeing into everyday decision-making.

You'll bring deep knowledge of WHS legislation, systems and risk management, and the credibility to influence across all levels of the organisation - from boardroom to field. It's a rare opportunity to lead safety in a business delivering essential services to Queensland communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic WHS leadership, embedding best-practice systems and psychosocial risk management
  • Build capability and culture through coaching, consultation and influence at all levels
  • Lead audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to keep people and community safe

About You

To be successful in this role, you will already have experience working in similar operational and regulatory environments, ideally in water, utilities, infrastructure or construction.

Specifically, you will bring:

  • Significant WHS leadership experience in complex, high-risk operational environments (e.g. utilities, construction, infrastructure, water)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of WHS legislation, codes, standards and risk management frameworks
  • A proven ability to develop and implement WHS strategy, policy and systems, not just operational compliance
  • Experience leading audits, investigations and driving continuous improvement across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Strong influencing, coaching and relationship-building skills at all organisational levels
  • Relevant WHS tertiary qualifications (or equivalent significant experience)
  • Current driver's licence and General Construction Induction

Work full-time hours over 9 days (72.5 hrs), giving you an extra 22 days off per year
  • Hybrid Flexibility:
Enjoy flexible working arrangements that support balance and family life
  • Community Impact:
Contribute to essential services that directly support the Logan community
  • Professional Growth:
Access structured development, leadership programs and ongoing learning
