**About the role**:
The Technical Specialist - Networks provides expertise and direction in the planning, design, and implementation of networks for the workplace domain.

Working across multiple projects the position will be required to liaise with multiple stakeholders in order to proactively review and optimisation existing network platforms and supporting processes. To drive efficiency via continuous improvement, consulting industry best practice, and automation.

**What you’ll deliver**:

- Architect, design, and document technical solutions that deliver agreed business benefits.
- Provide technical direction and guidance to various stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation in conjunction with other team members and architects across the domains.
- Ensure the technical approach that is taken aligns to the organisation’s IT strategy.
- Create and maintain documentation according to organisational standards (procedures, technical documentation and process diagrams associated with IT networks) as part of project delivery and enhancement activities.
- Work with project managers and SME’s, across domains, to understand technical network requirements where required.
- Lead technical discussions and decision making with the business, to assist with the delivery of project outcomes.

**To succeed in the role you’ll have**:

- 10+ years of experience as a Network Engineer/Architect.
- Demonstrated experience working with cisco hardware and software.
- Experience managing and maintaining of various firewall / security technologies such as checkpoint / palo alto.
- Experience designing, implementing and managing loads balancer (e.g. NetScaler’s / F5’s)
- Tertiary qualification in IT or related discipline.
- Advanced knowledge on configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, cloud networking components.
- Advanced knowledge on design and architecture of LAN, WAN, SDWAN and SAN network topologies.
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP certifications (desirable)
