**The Team**
The Firm’s People function has responsibility for recruiting, supporting and developing all of the Firm’s people, including our Partners, Lawyers and Professional & Business Services, working closely with the Firm’s leadership to design and deliver the Firm’s people strategy, building on the Firm’s core commitments to collaboration, excellence and inclusivity.
This role will report to our Senior Manager ID&E AP Region. No travel will be required in this role.
**Role Purpose**
The Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Manager will take proactive action in the Asia Pacific region on ID&E initiatives, to support and be responsible for executing the Firm's agreed ID&E strategy, initiatives, including a focus on metrics and policies in the Australian offices. This position will collaborate closely with the various Inclusion & Diversity Committees, local leadership and business services teams to advance inclusion and diversity goals. The key elements to the current ID&E priorities include gender equality, parents and carers, disability inclusion, mental health & wellbeing, mainstreaming flexibility, culture/ ethnicity and LGBTQ+ inclusion.
The ID&E Manager will also collaborate with colleagues across the Firm's network and support the Senior Manager ID&E for the AP region on global programs such as BakerWellbeing, gender equity commitment and regional/AP discussions and projects.
In addition to the above, other responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Delivery of ID&E initiatives in the region;
- Support the ID&E global team in delivery of key projects to integrate and embed ID&E into the region;
- Implement diversity awareness education programming, workshops, and seminars to support all personnel and to further drive the long-term embedding and sustainability of ID&E as part of the Firm’s core approach throughout all aspects of the Firm;
- Attend relevant Sydney based forums;
- Manage and work closely with the office ID&E Committees to ensure that initiatives and programs are planned for each year, with input and contribution from Committee members;
- Work closely with the Australian Office ID&E Committee and Australian management team to drive the Australian ID&E initiatives;
- Lead ID&E events within the Australian offices;
- Manage key internal and external annual reporting and compliance requirements for Australia, including WGEA, Employer of Choice for Gender Equality and AWEI, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information, and design and develop business reports;
- Ensure that committee spending is in line with the ID&E budget;
- Collaborate with the Firm's business professional teams;
- Compile, analyse, and maintain internal and external ID&E-related data and metrics, and own and maintain ID&E dashboards to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of ID&E initiatives and strategies;
- Build relationships with lawyers and business service professionals who participate in the committees, with a focus on the Australian offices;
- Take part in inter-firm peer support groups and networking opportunities to stay abreast of best practices; and
- Monitor external best practices and relevant external thought leadership.
**About you**
- **Minimum of 12 months, but ideally two years of continuous inclusion experience, within professional services, preferably in a large law firm;**:
- Bachelor's degree required; HR, Psychology, Organizational Development, Law Degree or Masters degree a plus;
- Passion for the field of inclusion and diversity;
- Self-motivated; ability to work independently;
- Strong organization skills, including setting priorities, structuring project deliverables, and ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, excellent presentation skills; and
- Strong computer literacy, including PowerPoint.
