Sydney Water has partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C), a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP, to deliver; design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the Partnering 4 Success(P4S) program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney.

What are we looking for?
We have identified an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Sustainability Lead to join our project supporting the D4C team and working closely with our Sydney Water team to help communicate our vision with our people.
The Environment and Sustainability Lead will monitor and support D4C activities with the goal of preventing harm, going beyond compliance, and improving environmental and sustainability outcomes.

**The key responsibilities of this will role will include**:

- Coordinate and provide day to day specialist environmental support to internal stakeholders.
- Identification and effective management of environmental risks.
- Develop, manage, and lead the continual technical improvement of project environment management systems.
- Manage and support the development of environmental team personnel in leading environmental practices and driving improvement.
- Plan, manage and implement the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site specific and contract requirements are met.
- Ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial, safety and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained on site.
- Respond to escalations and incident management as required.
- Demonstrate effective leadership, create a positive work environment, and promote best practice in the workplace.
- Contribute to all overall management of the team budget and provide cost effective and compliant advice and recommendations to D4C.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
- Construction environment management (5+ years)
- Knowledge of environmental statutes and legislation
- Ability to lead high level investigations involving multiple internal and external parties.
- Current driver's licence
- Onsite experience essential
- White card
