As a Disability Support Worker, you will aid participants to enable them to live independently in a home environment and to access the community.

The right applicants will be provided with full training in this role.

You need to be reliable, and trustworthy, have good interpersonal skills and flexibility with a genuine belief in upholding the rights of people with a disability with a person-centred approach.

We are looking for a positive and energetic staff to support a young client with some degree of complex behaviour.

Job Responsibility:

- Assisting with personal care and transfers.
- Assist with shopping and community access.
- It is important to develop a good understanding to provide as much structure and routine as possible.
- Communication should be clear, direct, and frequent.
- Be consistent and consistent to manage complex behaviour.
- Be positive.
- Use strategies to prevent and de-escalate behaviour e.g., talking it through, reassuring or suggesting solutions to prevent situations.

Immediate start. Staff availability should be 8.30-11.30 am and 8-11 pm.

7 days a week preferred to be female (you won’t be required to cover all the shifts). Should be familiar with cats.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $31.40 - $39.00 per hour
