**Job Description**:
This is a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Finance Team is a thriving team in Australia’s leading media company. Our priorities are ensuring effective governance and financial control, and delivering insightful partnering support to the business on operational and strategic initiatives to drive our business forward.
**Your new opportunity at Nine.**
You will assist Nine with modernising the Payroll function across the pillars of People, Process, Governance and Technology. You will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of payroll related projects and initiatives.
You will work with the Payroll team to ensure all processes are fit for purpose for the complex award and agreements across the Group.
**Day to day you will**:
- Act as a key contributor to project planning and scheduling
- Identify, document and map processes and design workflow diagrams and documentation
- Gather requirements from various teams including Payroll, People & Culture and Finance and prepare future state process maps
- Conduct system testing and analysis of processes to identify areas for improvement
- Deliver training to the payroll team on changes being implemented
- Support the Group Payroll Transformation Lead in managing and resolving issues and escalations
- Identify and manage risks and ensure processes are compliant with audit requirements
**Qualifications**:
You will have the ability to work in a busy environment and have excellent time management and organisation skills to meet strict deadlines. You will be a strong team player with the ability to multitask and problem solve.
You will have a strong customer focus and have the ability to provide high-quality, accurate, and responsive customer service. You will be an excellent communicator and have solid numerical and Microsoft Excel skills.
**What we would like to see on your resume**:
- Previous experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or Payroll Business Analyst (ideally 5 years minimum)
- Previous experience and knowledge using Chris21 is essential
- Previous experience with a large, complex Payroll function
- Previous experience and knowledge using a Time and Attendance system e.g. Time Target
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or Commerce highly regarded
- Experience in a Media or Marketing business highly regarded
