Finance Business Partner

Your role at St John of God Health Care

The Finance Business Partner will collaborate closely to the designated Chief Executives and Managers within Group Services. They will coordinate preparation of budget and forecast on their operating costs and respective Chief Projects, analyze financial information to identify business opportunities and risk, provide insightful financial advice and recommend course of action.

In this role, you will be dedicated to continually find ways to improve financial reporting to aid management decision making. The position will provide adhoc support to Finance Controller and Senior Financial Reporting Analyst

The Position- Business Partnering with respective Group Services Chief and cost centre Managers to effectively manage financial performance.- Preparation of annual Budget and Forecast on operating costs and Chief’s high value Projects, completion of budget/forecast draft in IBM PAW system, provide analysis of FTE requirements, challenging and understanding justifications on variances.- Provide financial analysis to identify and drive value adding opportunities and identify any risk that will impact financial performance, which will help Senior Management in decision making.- Coordinate and deliver month-end close, analysing FTE movement, review of actual operating expenses and projects spend in comparison to Budget.- Provide necessary journal adjustments to Graduate Accountant.- Provide comparative monthly reporting and adhoc analysis to Chief’s and cost centre owners, understanding and providing commentaries on financial performance and variances.- Effectively communicate and provide insightful financial advice, on how to mitigate the risks and identification of savings.- Provide reports on and forecasts on projects, to track spend and their benefits.- Regular liaison with their Group Services Chief to review results and attend monthly meetings with Senior Financial Reporting Analyst.- Continuously find ways to improve processes to support balance sheet management, including month end close and finance process improvements.- Provide external audit support, be a point of contact, provide accurate information in a timely mannerTo be considered for this role, we are looking for someone with substantial experience in Business partnering, sound interpersonal and communication skills and attention to detail. You should possess a tertiary qualification and professional membership of a recognised Australian accounting body.

Proficiency in financial management systems (such as MS Office, IBM Analytics and Oracle Fusion or similar systems), financial modelling and experience in writing financial reports to senior management, will be desirable for this role.
