**About the Role**
This role will develop and manage icare's media and PR strategies including driving our media response function, building and maintaining media relationships, and proactively identifying and seeding positive stories across traditional and non-traditional channels, to enhance icare's reputation, sentiment and reach with the community and key stakeholders.

**Duties**
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; in this role, you will:
- Develop and execute comprehensive media & PR plans to support communication campaigns, build reputation, and deliver on business objectives.
- Identify the most effective media targets and channels to reach target audiences and stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyse the media environment and trends to inform and optimise strategies and ensure maximum impact.
- Manage compelling content for various channels, ensuring all content aligns with brand guidelines and messaging.
- Manage reactive media activity, including journalist engagement and response positioning and development.
- Work with communications partners, leads and specialists to advise on and support the crafting of compelling media artefacts (media responses, media releases, media pitches, media briefings/press kits) for distribution to various media outlets and for stakeholder events.
- Help develop media 'holding lines' in case of enquiries on key issues and consult the business on emerging media risks.
- Act as ‘on call’ media lead and spokesperson out of hours, on a roster basis, as required.
**Skills & Experience**
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, media studies or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in PR, media relations, journalism, or other similar roles.
- Proven experience in creating engaging content for digital and traditional media.
- Strong understanding of media trends and strategies, and media management and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in a newsroom, agency and/or corporate PR environment or in government/public sector desirable.
