The team
The Communications and Corporate Affairs (CCA) Group builds and leverages strategic stakeholder relationships to improve awareness and understanding of ASIC's mandate and outcomes. It manages external, digital and internal communications, and delivers ASIC's consumer education and Moneysmart.
This role sits in the Corporate Affairs team in the CCA Group, which is accountable for consumer communications, including Moneysmart, and CCA's strategy.
From 2025, ASIC's Moneysmart program, which was accessed by more than 11 million Australians last year, will start delivering a new ongoing program to ensure Australians have easy access to independent, reliable information on superannuation and retirement through new consumer education campaigns, content and tools.
The role
As ASIC's Social Media Lead, you will:
1. Develop and implement ASIC's social media strategy across corporate and consumer channels.
2. Lead and mentor a team of social media specialists, fostering a high-performance, innovative culture.
3. Provide expert strategic advice to senior leaders on social media campaigns, content, and best-practice audience engagement.
4. Oversee content planning and execution, ensuring messaging aligns with ASIC's regulatory work and consumer financial education objectives.
5. Utilise analytics tools to measure performance, track key metrics, and optimise content strategies.
6. Work across the CCA Group and ASIC to ensure social media is impactful and positions the Agency well.
About you
You have extensive experience in social media leadership, with a background in developing and executing strategies that drive audience engagement and deliver measurable results. Your expertise includes managing corporate and consumer-focused social media channels, overseeing high-quality content creation, and leveraging analytics to inform strategic decisions. A strong understanding of digital communications in regulated industries, such as government or financial services, is essential.
As a collaborative and strategic leader, you excel at influencing stakeholders, providing expert advice, and working across teams to align messaging with corporate priorities. You have a proven ability to lead and mentor high-performing teams, drive innovation, and ensure best-practice social media engagement in a complex and fast-paced environment.
