Applications are invited from highly motivated, enthusiastic Peer Support professionals. Peer Support Workers can be involved in many varying ways, including assisting and advising on the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of the services, we provide within Healthscope.
The role of the Peer Support Worker is to help the organisation be responsive to patient, carer and consumer input and needs. This Peer Support role will provide advice to the hospital about partnerships with consumers and carers and help the hospital to keep a patient-centred approach.
This position reports to the Quality & Operations Manager.

**Essential Criteria**:
- Qualifications in Peer Support
- Experience of private hospital services, as a consumer - either patient or carer
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work independently and seek advice/assistance appropriately
- Ability to run a local committee of Consumers & Volunteers, including meeting documentation (agendas/minutes)
- Ability to project manage quality improvement projects, including measuring and reporting of outcomes
- Commitment to providing a consumer perspective
- Availability to attend relevant organisation meetings and forums
- Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals - consumers, families and professional staff in a positive and collaborative manner
**Required Qualification**:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent)
**Desirable Criteria**:
- Certificate of Mental Health First Aid
- Previous experience in group facilitation
- Prior involvement with community based groups and/or as a volunteer
- Experience as a member of a committee
- Understanding of quality management and accreditation
