**About the Role**

Receive and effectively triage disputes and litigation raised by customers. Provide a range of paralegal and administrative services that supports the efficient and effective delivery of legal services. **Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Paralegal you will:

- Provide high quality specialist services for workers compensation customers.
- Provide timely and flexible support to the Dispute Resolution and Litigation Team by undertaking administrative tasks and other duties with limited supervision across a variety of areas of the law, including internal reviews, litigation and support services.
- Provide initial contact point services, together with information, advice and escalation where necessary to the appropriate person for resolution.
- Assist and support the team in the completion of quality reviews of liability disputes within legislated timeframes.
- Conduct legal research and assist with processing pleadings, subpoenas and the preparation of draft advice and briefing documents.
- Use expert specialist knowledge to assist in the delivery of accurate, timely, empathetic and efficient end-to-end resolution of customer disputes.
- Work with your team and other internal stakeholders to achieve positive customer outcomes.
- Keep abreast and ahead of escalated reviews, litigated matters or decision-making trends to ensure that potential impacts are anticipated and managed.
- Create and maintain accurate records in legal information systems for the team in accordance with records management policies and procedures and confidentiality/privacy requirements.

**Skills & Experience**
- Comprehensive understanding of workers compensation legislation
- Experience in personal injury claims will be highly regarded
- Experience in alternate dispute resolution/litigation in insurance related matters
- Experience in claims management including statutory disputes
- Ability to adapt to change in the insurance industry and economic environment
- Ability to tailor communications and approach to the specific customer
- Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skill
- Passionate about providing quality service and outcomes to our customers with a focus on empathy
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage conflicting demands whilst maintaining consistent standards of service delivery Experience in providing paralegal support to a legal practice and/or an in-house legal team.
