**The Role**
The International Engagements Lead is accountable for the AIR6500 Series Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) Program’s International Engagement & Export Controls (IE&EC) activities, including management and oversight of: Program Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procurements, Program International Engagement requirements, and Program export controls requirements. This also includes Governance and Assurance functions, as well as the potential establishment of new International Cooperative Agreements (MoUs and Project Arrangements).

The Lead is also required to plan, and manage, a range of human and physical resources, and exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve business outcomes. They will develop and implement work strategies and plans, set performance indicators, and review individual, team and business performance, identifying opportunities for building team capacity and capability and for continuous improvement, and identifying and managing International Engagement risks. They will perform work that aligns with the Program’s strategic objectives, communicate well, and deliver on expected outcomes.

**About our Team**
Defence has commenced work on one of the most complex and challenging programs in Australian Defence Force (ADF) history, one that seeks to transform the ADF’s Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) capability into a fully networked, fifth-generation force better able to protect its airspace and vital assets from increasingly complex and lethal air and missile threats.

At current point in time, CASG Air Defence Systems (ADS) Branch will deliver three projects as part of the IAMD program:

- AIR6500 PH1 (Joint Air Battle Management System)
- AIR6502 PH1 (Medium Range Ground-Based Air Defence)
- AIR7004 PH1 (Theatre Air Control System)

In order to deliver on this requirement, the IAMD program seeks a talented and committed International Engagements Manager to play their part in this nationally significant and strategically critical undertaking. International Engagement is a key part of programmatic success so that Australia remains in lock-step with our allies and other like-minded nations; and is able to access the technologies that it needs to defend our nation and its national interests.

Operating in a pivotal International Engagement leadership role within Program and Project teams, the International Engagements Manager will be responsible for identifying and facilitating strategically valuable international engagement opportunities, and for supporting capability delivery through international engagements, planning, execution, and advice.

In discharging these responsibilities, they will be responsible to the Program Enabling Director - Commercial, Industry and International Engagements, for ensuring the Program’s achievement of positive outcomes in this particular stream.
- Demonstrated experience with international Defence acquisition programs such as US Foreign Military Sales and Cooperative Programs, and/or Commercial experience with acquisitions from the US Government and US industry;
- A successful track record of managing the delivery of international engagement outcomes in dynamic environments, with diplomatic acumen, and by using appropriate, and emotionally intelligent engagement practices;
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships, successfully lead a distributed network of multiple stakeholders, and positively influence process and outcomes;
- The ability to process complex information and communicate clearly, concisely, and influentially, both orally, face-to-face, remotely and in writing, to technical and non-technical audiences;
- Superior risk analysis and deductive reasoning skills to support effective decision-making; and
- Adaptability to a dynamic environment and openness to new ideas, methods and people.
