**The Role**
Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons (NATC) Branch within the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is seeking an energetic self-starter, with strategic awareness of the Defence environment and the experience and professional conduct required to represent the office of the Branch Head.
This position will provide the successful applicant with significant exposure to the operations of CASG at the senior executive levels and across the Department of Defence. The successful applicant can expect involvement in a broad range of tasks related to key outcomes for NATC Branch in the Rotary, Aerospace and Surveillance Systems Division, including the daily management of Branch business, implementation of the Branch governance framework and strategic objectives.
The successful applicant can also expect to refine their organisational and representational skills in a high tempo environment.
**About our Team**
In this role you will be part of a small but highly motivated team that directly supports the Director General of NATC to oversee the acquisition and sustainment of key aviation capabilities.
Our team is located in Brindabella Park, ACT, and liaises with a range of stakeholders including NATC staff (in Canberra, Nowra, East Sale and Melbourne) and Defence officials from across the organisation.
NATC comprises the executive business support team, Aviation Commons and Air Training SPO (ATACSPO), Navy Aviation SPO (NASPO), Navy & Army Aviation Acquisition Program Office (NA3PO).
- Understand the role of CASG and its responsibilities and priorities to the armed services, the Department of Defence and Government so as to support, provide advice and manage the operations of the NATC Branch.
- Possess the ability to build a network, engage and manage many stakeholders and resources across the Defence environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to exercise sound judgement and highly developed administrative, planning and organisational skills.
- Have highly developed task management and organisational skills that will enable you to implement and improve on the daily function of the NATC Branch including its correspondence and task tracking system.
- Demonstrated experience and confidence providing high level support to Senior Executives.
- Perform secretarial duties for executive meetings, including responsibility for the accurate and timely dissemination of outcomes and minutes.
- Provide leadership and management of junior staff.
- Model inclusive leadership and the Defence values. Always act in a manner that advances the reputation of NATC Branch as professional, responsive, outcomes oriented and discrete.
