As Principal Policy and Program Advisor, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting high level strategic policy research and development that reflects good practice nationally and internationally
- Responding to government priorities and contributing to improved outcomes for the community regarding matters covered by the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994, Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Regulation 2016, Transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Act 1995 and Transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Regulation 2018
- Effectively and efficiently managing transport-related projects, ensuring alignment with the strategic direction of the division and the department
- Monitoring developments in other Australian and international jurisdictions around emerging technologies that will assist to achieve desired policy outcomes
- Building and maintaining networks and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and obtaining input from stakeholders in the preparation of high-level advice.
