**The Company**

Australian Dairy Farmers Limited (ADF) is a not-for-profit organisation accountable for advocating the interests of Australian Dairy Farmers. ADF is a strong collective voice to Government and the community on national issues effecting dairy farmers and dairy farm productivity. ADF is structured with a governing board, supported by a National Council made up from the six State Dairy Farmer Organisations (SDFO).

Along with the dairy processor representative body, the Australian Dairy Products Federation (ADPF), the ADF forms the Australian Dairy Industry Council (ADIC). This partnership is unique to Australian agriculture in that it takes a unified, whole of industry approach to policy and advocacy on issues where there is broad agreement.

**The Position**

To be successful in this high-profile position, you will possess the following background, skills and key attributes:

- Demonstrated high level skills in providing strategic direction and effective leadership in successfully implementing change initiatives (ideally reporting directly to a Chair & Board)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management across government, media, farmers and other industry organisations
- Proven ability to raise the profile of an organisation through sound policy development and advocacy
- Highly developed business management skills across finance, governance and business planning
- Proven ability in leading and motivating a small team of professionals to achieve strategic and operational objectives
- The ability to utilise analytical and negotiation skills to resolve complex issues
- Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with stakeholders who may hold a diverse range of views and objectives
- Strength of character and resilience
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, economics or communications related discipline
- A broad understanding of agriculture and its key drivers is highly desirable but not considered essential.
