It is estimated that over half a million businesses are represented under SkillsEQuipped. SkillsEQuipped aims to bring together business and industry leaders to collaborate on innovative solutions. Taking a tripartite approach, SkillsEQuipped collaborate with a broad range of industry stakeholders, government, and education and training providers to identify, forecast and respond to the current and emerging workforce and skills needs of our unique sectors.

**Your new role**

Skills Equipped is seeking 5 Industry Engagement Liaison Managers, responsible for each of the sectors residing within the council** **(**Retail, Tourism & Travel, The Arts, Hospitality, and Personal Services).

As Industry Liaison Manager you will lead, manage and proactively drive industry liaison through industry consultative committees, technical advisory groups, workshops, webinars, conferences, surveys and other stakeholder forums. You will be accountable to the Director of Stakeholder Engagement for implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan, ongoing development of the Workforce Development Plan and the Activity Schedule whilst also being an industry expert.
- Lead the Industry Stewardship across one of the five relevant sectors (Retail, Personal Services, Hospitality, Tourism & Travel and The Arts), building authentic relationships, strategic partnerships and vocal participation.
- Work within the Stakeholder Engagement team, managing the industry consultative committees, technical advisory groups, workshops, webinars, conferences, surveys and other stakeholder forums for your industry and supporting the Director of Stakeholder Engagement.
- Develop and execute strategic engagement opportunities and initiatives to enable SkillsEQuipped to deliver on its Workforce Development Plans, Activity Schedules & KPIs.
- Maintain strong communication & engagement networks whilst influencing skills with the intent to productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Driving organisational growth (revenue and/or member numbers), ideally in the context of Retail, Personal Services, Hospitality, Tourism & Travel or The Arts.
- Leadership Capacity understanding team skills / capabilities & identifying development opportunities.
- Making the “difficult calls” recognising the necessity to engage with relevant stakeholders.
- Liaison/consultation and negotiation with government and industry professionals.
- Previous management experience.
- Experience with or a strong interest in investing, providing a clear connection with Retail, Personal Services, Hospitality, Tourism & Travel or The Arts shareholder membership base.
- Experience in media interaction, public speaking and debating with good skills in preparing submissions to government and government bodies.
- The following experience will be highly regarded: Relevant tertiary qualifications in an industry-related/ government discipline are preferred.
