Are you passionate about wildlife conservation and making a positive impact on the world? Do you have a strong background in workplace health and safety and employee wellbeing? Australia's largest wildlife rescue organization, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated WHS & Wellbeing Consultant to join their dynamic team for a 6-month contract.

Our client is a renowned organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of native Australian wildlife. With a team of 100 staff members and an impressive network of 3,500 volunteers, they are at the forefront of wildlife rescue and conservation efforts. They are experiencing rapid growth, and are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of their team members across the country.
As a WHS & Wellbeing Consultant, you will play a critical role in enhancing and implementing effective safety systems and wellbeing initiatives. You will be responsible for conducting a thorough gap analysis and audit of current safety systems, identifying areas for improvement, and developing a comprehensive project plan to address these gaps. Your expertise will guide the implementation of changes and the rollout of updated WHS practices across our organization.
Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to gather information and understand the specific needs and challenges of our dispersed team members.
- Implement updated WHS policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteers in understanding and implementing safety protocols and wellbeing initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented changes, identify any further areas for improvement, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Regularly communicate and report progress to the management team, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience:

- A strong background in workplace health and safety
- Proven experience in conducting WHS gap analyses and audits, developing project plans, and implementing safety improvements.
- Sound knowledge of WHS regulations, legislation, and best practices in Australia.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify and address safety gaps and develop practical solutions.
- Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or working with dispersed teams will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications in WHS or a related field are desirable.

Working Arrangement: This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days a week and spend the remaining time the office in Brookvale. You will have the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
