Help people create their tomorrow, while you create yours

We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we've been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

At AMP, we are committed to creating a workplace where our people feel safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. As the Senior Manager, Health, Safety & Wellbeing, you will play a pivotal role in driving our culture of safety, care and respect, ensuring the wellbeing of everyone who works with us.

This is a unique opportunity to influence AMP's ongoing journey as an industry leader in health, safety and wellbeing. You'll collaborate with passionate and supportive colleagues, work closely with leaders across our business, and design initiatives that make a genuine difference, ensuring our people can do meaningful work in a flexible, inclusive and welcoming environment.

You will have the scope to shape key programs, respond to emerging trends, and champion best practices that support the health and wellbeing of our people. With the backing of committed leaders and a shared purpose, you'll be empowered to advocate for innovation, inspire positive change, and help AMP make a lasting impact in the community.

If you are passionate about making workplaces better, and ready to build your career with a company that truly values its people, we invite you to join us in this important leadership role.

As the Senior Manager, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of AMP's WHS and wellbeing agenda. As the enterprise-wide subject matter expert, you'll oversee the WHS Management System, advise leaders on compliance and risk, and shape initiatives that foster a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace.

This role combines technical depth with strategic influence, enabling you to drive continuous improvement, respond to emerging trends, and embed a culture of care and accountability across AMP.

How will you make an impact

  • Lead WHS strategy aligned to AMP's People Strategy, embedding safety, inclusion and performance into workplace culture.
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leaders, informed by legislative obligations, risk insights and emerging trends.
  • Oversee the WHS Management System and implementation of policies, systems and controls, including incident reporting, injury management and emergency preparedness.
  • Partner with leaders, P&C teams and external providers to embed WHS into broader people initiatives, support complex case management and shape responsive programs.
  • Drive strategic WHS reporting, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement across safety practices and people metrics.

What you will bring to the role

  • Postgraduate qualification in WHS, risk, allied health, legal, HR or a related discipline, and/or equivalent industry experience and training.
  • Extensive experience applying WHS legislation across national and international jurisdictions.
  • Proven background in workers compensation, illness and injury management.
  • Demonstrated leadership in WHS strategy, systems, governance and risk, including preparing board papers and presenting to senior executives.
  • Generalist HR experience across multiple disciplines is highly regarded.

Who you are

You bring deep expertise in WHS, with demonstrated experience interpreting and applying legislation, codes of practice and complex legal advice in a business context. You've worked across HR and WHS domains, applying your knowledge to broader employment frameworks including industrial instruments, policies and procedures.

Your background includes working in complex environments where analytical thinking, risk-based problem solving and stakeholder engagement were key to success. You've built exceptional relationships across all levels of an organisation and are known for your ability to coach, influence and collaborate to achieve shared outcomes.

You communicate clearly and confidently, tailoring technical information for diverse audiences including senior executives and Boards. You're highly organised, discreet with sensitive information and able to manage competing priorities with professionalism and attention to detail.

Why we think you'll love working at AMP

Doing what we've always done is not an option, so your clever ideas will get airtime here. You'll be encouraged to speak up and try new things. If they don't work, we move on - better for it.

We know there's no one way of doing things. So, you won't have to sacrifice who you are or how you work to fit in here. We're inclusive and flexible in many of the ways you'd expect. And in some of the ways you wouldn't. As long as your health and wellbeing come first - at home and at work.

In fact, most of what makes AMP such a welcoming, enjoyable place to work are our people. Wherever you go, you'll find moments to connect, feel valued and do meaningful work.

Whether it's through our first-class leaders who are invested in you and your success. Through year-round opportunities to volunteer, fundraise and give back to the community. Or in the everyday challenges you face as we work together to strengthen this great organisation. Challenges that will stretch you, amplify your potential and compound the impact you have.

We believe in the power of inclusion and diversity

We're dedicated to fostering inclusion, diversity, and a warm feeling of belonging at AMP. It sparks creativity, ignites innovation, and turns up the dial on the quality of our decisions and performance. This not only makes our workplace more engaged, but also leads to better connections with our customers.

We're your allies in the search for the perfect fit - when you apply, let us know how we can support you to put your best self forward during our selection process.

We're also committed to enhancing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, so we enthusiastically encourage candidates from these backgrounds to apply and explore our Reconciliation Plan on our website.

Ready to create your tomorrow?

If you're someone who sees opportunity where others see challenge, come and work with us in smart, progressive ways as we transform an iconic Australian brand for the future. And, through a series of career-defining moments, create your own tomorrow.

Don't procrastinate We review applications when we get them, and if we discover the ideal candidate, we may close the role earlier than the advertised close date.

Looking forward to meeting you.
