**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
**Maintenance Management -**
- Manages the short
- & long-term maintenance activities of building infrastructure and ancillary services to ensure the upkeep of the facilities' building assets and the ongoing availability and reliability of ancillary plant and equipment.
- Manage day shift support team performing long-term equipment overhauls, projects & process tool maintenance
- Coordination of 1st & 2nd year apprentices
- Oversee Boiler & Refrigeration operators to ensure responsible for the safe and efficient operation, continuous monitoring and maintenance of the extensive ammonia refrigeration & boiler systems and associated equipment to ensure the processing plants cooling, chilling, freezing and steam demands are met on a continuous basis.
- Manage Fire systems to ensure operation & maintenance meet the plants statutory compliance as per Australian Standards and ensure any impairments are communicated promptly with management and the insurer.
- Liaise with Maintenance Planner to ensure boiler & refrigeration equipment are registered and serviced as per Australian standards.
- Develop and implement appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure buildings, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe and efficient manner
- Monitor daily plant maintenance activities to ensure priorities are known and met.
- Provide direction, advice and assistance to the maintenance and production staff in engineering and maintenance-related issues.
- Ensure that maintenance manning levels meet plant requirements.
- Monitor and respond to maintenance workforce capability needs.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of contractor and suppliers.

**Continuous Improvement -**
- Develop and implement shutdown plans in conjunction with the Plant Engineer and, Maintenance Planner;
- Take a proactive role in understanding the root causes of downtime, energy & water usages and designing and proposing solutions to the Plant Engineer to eliminate those causes
- Proactively analyse maintenance & sustainability information to identify weaknesses in equipment and/or maintenance strategies to eliminate waste, significant or repetitive breakdowns.
- Develop and implement a positive culture of safe operating procedures and practices.

**Communication -**
- Accurately communicate with plant management and production personnel
- Ensure accurate and frequent communication with the Plant Engineer & maintenance team

**About you**:

- Mechanical/Electrical Trade Qualifications
- Experience working with refrigeration and boilers would be an advantage;
- Experience in maintenance supervision or management;
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment desirable
- The ability to plan organise and control project and maintenance activities to optimise the use of available resources
- Sound knowledge of OH&S regulations
- Must have Australian work rights
