**What the opportunity looks like**
**Internally**:
- Champion sports & betting internally across all teams
- As the sports & betting specialist of the sales team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, ideation and overall output of all key format and commercial opportunities relevant to the category.
- You will be the internal point of call for all sport & betting opportunities, working closely with - the agency sales team, other category specialists, creative & strategy and content.
- Build & maintain a strong working relationship with all key editorial stakeholders working within the sports & betting category.
- Utilise these relationships to tap into channel and editorial insight, mobilising these to be used for the commercial benefit of sport & betting, as well as for the general knowledge of all departments.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of sport & betting competitive set, as well as their commercial and marketing activity - should include broadcasters, standard publishers, social publishers, niche publishers and governing bodies.
- Work in partnership with Head of Specialists to develop creds deck for relevant sport & betting channels, and category specific opportunities.
- Own & maintain the internal sport & betting calendar relevant for both sales & editorial teams
- Deliver consistent and regular industry updates across the sport and betting landscape
- Keep up to date with all platform updates, thinking about how new tools etc. could be best utilised for clients in the category e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat & TikTok.
**Commercially**:
- Assist with all channel and category relevant brief responses in a consultative capacity ensuring the highest levels of insight, relevancy of response for channel, and quality of output with reference to the brief.
- Work in partnership with Head of Specialists to identify and create appropriate event or calendar specific sales collateral for proactive sport & betting commercial opportunities.
- Work in partnership with Head of Specialists to research and propose new commercial opportunities for the business to consider
- Work in conjunction with the sales team to identify target contacts & brands to present proactive commercial opportunities around sport & betting
- Work in partnership with the specialist team (Events, Talent & Social agency) to identify & create joint commercial opportunities for the sales team to take to market
- Represent SPORTbible Australia across numerous commercial and marketing opportunities externally, inhabiting the role of the channel specialist in the room.
- Identify and build key client & agency relationships across relevant channel verticals and their strategic targeting. Incorporating and working sales team members wherever possible.
- Identify & facilitate new relationships relevant to the sport & betting landscape
- Responsible for overall partnership and display revenue growth for the category.
**Brand**:
- Work closely in conjunction with Head of Specialists to organise proactive channel specific commercial launches, category research or industry insight events.
- Identify channel specific client education or entertainment opportunities working in conjunction with our sales team to ensure these build brand profile and credibility within agencies and with clients.
- Identify and lock in Industry speaking/presentation opportunities at credible or appropriate events.
- Maintain existing branding partnerships in market as well as identifying new opportunities to build our brand across Sport & Betting in Australia
**Skills and experience we’d like you to have**
- Experience across either marketing, commercial partnerships, sport sponsorship, consumer or fan products, or within a sporting agency
- Previous experience working for sport governing bodies, professional sport teams, television, radio or digital broadcast, sporting agency or bookmakers
- Previous experience working across commercial products and partnerships - either from a selling perspective or an implementation perspective
- A thorough knowledge of the Australian sport & betting landscape as well as an understanding of the broader global sports industry
- Existing relationships from within the Australian sporting industry
- A track record of selling in concepts, ideas or packages (including proven relationships) and clients in the sport industry
- Have excellent negotiation skills to ensure maximum revenue fr
