In the role of Principal Advisor (Freight Program Coordination) you are required to work across teams to support the coordination and management of the department's strategic freight agenda aimed at developing and effectively operating an efficient multi-modal freight transport system supporting Queensland's economic development.
This is a new position that will initially play a key role in expanding the freight program coordination function. Once the work program is established and volume of work increases a second Principal Advisor (Freight Program Coordination) will be recruited to work closely together with this position.
This role supports TMR to deliver an integrated, resilient, and safe multi-modal freight system for Queensland's economy and communities, fostered through innovative solutions to existing and emerging freight and supply chain issues aligned with the Queensland Freight Strategy and Queensland Freight Action Plan.
**Key responsibilities include**: - Develop and lead the freight program coordination function and support the progression of procurement proposals and project reporting activities and ensure alignment to business needs and senior management requirements. Support project delivery and engagement activities by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with internal and other government stakeholders on freight related program activities. Develop reports, presentations and/or briefings on freight program, projects and investment proposals to inform policy, planning and investment decision making and to effectively brief the Minister and other senior management.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following: - Experience in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with key stakeholders. Experience developing and managing programs of work, projects, and strategic initiatives, including undertaking procurement, progress reporting and evaluation, stakeholder consultation, and ensuring good governance in line with best practice approaches. Experience in providing written and verbal advice to support the development of executive-level briefing notes, ministerials, reports, submissions, business cases and other correspondence in line with departmental standards. Understanding of relevant procurement, program, and project management frameworks. Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaborate as part of a team to deliver a program of work.
