The Industrial Relations and Policy team is responsible for contributing to the development and implementation of the department's industrial relations agenda, including: the development and implementation of certified agreements (enterprise bargaining); dispute management both directly with unions and in the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission; department/union consultative processes; and providing technical advisory services to a range of stakeholders including other teams in People and Culture.
The Industrial Relations and Policy team is also responsible for setting the Department's direction in respect to contemporary workforce policies in alignment with relevant legislation. The team collaborates closely with other People and Culture teams to ensure ongoing review/development of workforce policies and supporting material, as well as HR programs within People and Culture.
The role of the Principal Advisor, Industrial Relations and Policy will assist and support the Manager in relation to management of the workforce policy and development, maintenance of the policies, procedures and Q&As on the Intranet, review of the policy framework for People and Culture. The Principal Advisor will be required to work independently to project lead and manage emerging HR and Industrial Relations policy development resulting from legislative and directive changes. The Principal Advisor will also be required to provide clarification and advice regarding industrial legislation, instruments and related matters.
