**The Principal Advisor's key responsibilities are**:
- Lead the development, coordination and implementation of safety, wellbeing and injury management (SWIM) strategies and projects that result in positive business outcomes.
- Lead, coach and mentor Senior Advisors and Advisors to achieve continuous improvement in practice.
- Contribute to the effective delivery of SWIM functions and initiatives, with a focus on injury management and health and wellbeing, in an environment where service delivery models vary for Child Safety and, Seniors and Disability Services.
- Provide authoritative advice and services to senior management and staff, on a broad range of contemporary safety, wellbeing and injury management issues.
- Develop training, education and awareness strategies to build and sustain management and staff awareness and capability to undertake their day-to-day activities in a safe and healthy environment.
- Develop and implement strategies to record, monitor and review safety, wellbeing and injury management performance and prepare detailed reports for management and relevant governance arrangements.
- Contribute to the evaluation of SWIM services, systems and initiatives, so as to ensure services provided are value-adding and achieving the business goals of the department.
- Liaise with other government departments, statutory authorities, professional organisations, unions, external service providers, etc. in the management of issues affecting safety, wellbeing and injury management.
- Oversee, coordinate and appraise employee support services and the provision of support programs by external providers.
- Build client relationships promoting inclusivity and cultural capability, to create working partnerships which will facilitate high quality injury management and workplace rehabilitation practices and outcomes.
- Prepare submissions, reports, executive briefs and other correspondence on significant safety, wellbeing and injury management issues.
