**Would you like to work a 4 day work week?**
With recent events over the past two years, more people than ever before realise that life is not just about doing great work, it’s about balance too. This newly created Operations Management role presents an exceptional opportunity for you to have both and bring your problem solving and operational experience to the table. You can play a key role in building solid foundations before the business’ next stage of growth.
These are the values you’d be signing up to which form the culture you’d help lead:
- **Be leaders in vehicle safety.** Keep learning. If the answer is not known, research & share the answer.
- **Respect everyone.** Respect will be given to everyone we encounter.
- **Commitment to Customers.** We develop relationships that make a positive difference in our customers’ lives.
- **Teamwork.** We work as a team not an individual, we seek and give help when it is needed.
- **Ownership of actions.** Own your actions every day, good, bad or ugly. Learn and move on if mistakes are made.
- **Pride.** Take pride in yourself and the company every day, be the best you can possibly be.
**About the Role**:
There are three core elements to this role:
- Lead and grow the team to support the next stage of growth
- Manage the day-to-day operations
- Ensure solid foundations are in place to achieve the vision
In this role you will:
- Build and coach the team and help lead the culture enabling people to be clear on KPIs, perform at their best, solve problems, learn and grow
- Manage the day to day operations including looking at workflow, organisational structure, scheduling, rosters, processes, and systems.
- Identify areas for improvement and lead the change necessary to implement them
- Help construct budgets and achieve strong commercial outcomes by identifying ways to increase the average repair order and profitability of the business
- Lead a safety focused culture ensuring all policies, procedures and practices are in place and being followed
- Ensure all customers receive an exceptional customer experience, educate customers and nurture the relationship
- Ensure appropriate processes and systems are in place to support the growth of the business, drive high performance, increase profitability, and manage any risks
- Keep an eye on the long-term industry impacts and trends such as the shift to electric cars/buses and balance that with the day to day needs of the business. This requires both operational and longer term thinking and the ability to navigate ambiguity
- Understand the competitive context, and share ideas to increase market share
- Look for ways to extract further value from suppliers and maintain the excellent relationships in place
**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will align with the cultural elements listed above, be a strong, self-aware leader, a natural problem solver, and consistent and exceptional communicator. You also integrate fun into what you do and how you lead.
Whilst you may have prior industry experience or experience in a production or manufacturing environment, this isn’t essential, nor is direct mechanical experience. We are, however, looking for an experienced operational leader with responsibility covering customer focus, operations, safety, and commercial performance.
You have the ability to balance multiple perspectives, adjust your style and use key information to make good decisions. A high level of emotional intelligence is required in this role.
Your communication skills see you developing trusting relationships
