You will be directly exposed to this as a member of the Portfolio Team within the Digital Technology Solution (DTS) department. You will be rubbing shoulders with both our knowledgeable and experienced business stakeholders and our exceptional technology team members at all levels of the organisation with the intent of reviewing, analysing and working towards improving our existing software delivery processes and performance using data.

With an immense variety of daily tasks, this is a key support role where you can expect to be challenged to think, question, and do differently. With broad visibility of the entire technology department, this role is key in supporting the continuous improvement of our software systems and processes as part of a highly supportive team.

With your passion for data, analysis, and visualisation, you will be supporting how we measure the success of our software delivery squads and help find ways to improve our standards and our value output for the rest of the business.

Based in
**Brisbane**, as the
**Junior Data and BI Analyst**, you will be exposed to a variety of viewpoints of our Digital Technology Solutions department. These include planning, delivery, governance, support and architecture. You will utilise our data tooling (including Snowflake, Matillion, PowerBI and AWS, amongst others) to help compile, integrate, analyse and communicate data-driven insights into our departmental performance.

This will involve assisting with the analytical value stream of identifying data sources, ingesting them into our Data Warehouse, building data models, creating dashboards and other visualisations, and communicating insights gained from these views.

Your enthusiasm for data-driven decision making and driving continuous improvement will be instrumental in contributing to the success of our Digital Technology Solutions team. This is a great opportunity to develop a wholistic understanding of an IT department, the software delivery process, data warehousing, data visualisation, agile ways of working and how IT contributes to broader business objectives.

**What you’ll bring**

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

- A strong understanding of how data is stored in databases and how it can be used to answer questions;
- A strong understanding of the SQL language and the ability to translate business questions into data queries;
- The ability to clearly articulate ideas, concerns, and questions to a variety of audiences through written, verbal, and visual media;
- Ability to problem-solve and think beyond the process or task and consider impacts and outcomes;
- A strong passion for understanding the bigger picture and how the department drives business outcomes;
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products;
- An understanding of the Python language and the Pandas library;
- An understanding of Data Warehousing and data pipeline;
- Basic experience working with or knowledge of Scaled Agile teams and Agile delivered solutions;
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of consistent and carefully considered, accessible and well documented data sets and visualisations;
- An understanding of Agile performance data and metrics and how they drive behaviour and outcomes;
- Experience using ETL tools (such as Matillion, Apache Airflow, Pandas) to collect and refine data;
- Experience with the Atlassian toolsets, including Jira and Confluence;
- Experience navigating Jira and Jira data structures;
- Data visualisation skills (Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau);
