**About the role**

As the AI Labs Manager at ART, you will lead a newly formed enterprise lab focused on AI experimentation and innovation. You’ll drive a culture of rapid ideation and testing, enabling ART to explore and scale emerging AI solutions that deliver real value to members and the business. This strategic leadership role partners across the organisation to align AI innovation with enterprise priorities and long-term transformation goals.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead the AI Lab team to identify, design, and prototype AI use cases aligned with strategic priorities.
- Build a culture of experimentation while ensuring governance and ethical AI practices.
- Develop and mature the AI Lab operating model, including governance, metrics, and prioritisation.
- Manage the innovation pipeline and champion use cases from ideation to scaling.
- Provide technical and strategic leadership to ensure secure scalable AI architecture patterns, rigorous testing and clear success criteria.
- Collaborate with internal teams to transition successful experiments into production.
- Partner with legal, risk, and ethics teams to embed responsible AI principles.
- Engage business units to co-design problem statements and assess feasibility and impact.
- Get hands-on with designing, testing and implementing AI solutions.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience leading AI or innovation teams in lab or proof-of-concept environments, with the view to scale AI solutions.
- Strong technical foundation in AI/ML concepts and experimentation frameworks.
- Expertise in Microsoft AI services (Co-pilot, AI Foundry), Databricks, and other major platforms.
- Experience designing and reviewing AI architectures and transitioning PoCs to production.
- Ability to turn ambiguous ideas into testable hypotheses and structured experiments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Demonstrated alignment of experimentation outcomes with strategic enterprise goals.
- Experience with responsible AI frameworks and Agile delivery for rapid prototyping.
