Role Description

This is a contract full-time Data Engineer
role based in Brisbane, QLD (with flexible hybrid options).

We are looking for someone who loves being hands-on with data — building pipelines, modelling, transforming, and optimising. You'll be working in
Microsoft Fabric
, integrating sources like
SQL
,
Business Central
and
Dataverse
, and applying
Medallion Architecture
patterns. Experience in
Power BI
is also a nice to have, as we expect you to support the semantic modelling and reporting layers that bring our data to life for clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise SQL-based data pipelines.
  • Build and manage solutions in
    Microsoft Fabric
    .
  • Integrate and transform data from
    Business Central
    and
    Dataverse
    .
  • Apply
    Medallion Architecture
    (bronze, silver, gold) in practice.
  • Support
    Power BI
    development, including semantic modelling and performance tuning.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to translate requirements into working solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong
    SQL
    skills (querying, optimisation, tuning).
  • Hands-on experience with
    Microsoft Fabric
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Power BI
    (data modelling, DAX, semantic layer).
  • Experience with
    Business Central
    and
    Dataverse
    integrations.
  • Understanding of
    Medallion Architecture
    and practical application.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in a data engineering role (commercial or project-based).

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to tools like Data Factory, dbt, Fivetran, Matillion, or Coalesce.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or related technologies.
  • Experience with Snowflake or other modern data warehouses.
