Banking Officer

**About the Role**:
Based in Brisbane CBD at National Storage Head Office, we are seeking a detail-oriented Banking Officer who has a passion for their work, solving problems, and delivering excellence.**Reporting to the Transactional Accounting Manager, this role is an integral part of the National Storage Finance Transactional team.

This is a high-volume role that will see you** own completion of all bank reconciliations for National Storage’s transactional banking accounts** across our extensive Australia and New Zealand network, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes completing ledger and statement loads into our reconciliation software, performing auto reconciliation processes, and manually matching and investigating any unreconciled items and discrepancies.
You will reconcile daily credit card, direct debit, and AMEX settlements for over 200 locations across Australia and New Zealand, allocate BPAY receipts, direct credits, and other ad hoc transactions. This role will also be the primary contact for all banking and receipting queries across National Storage

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Perform daily, weekly and monthly reconciliations on multiple bank accounts across our Australian and New Zealand locations.
- Match daily transactions and investigate and resolve discrepancies such as missing/unallocated transactions and system errors in a timely manner.
- Daily upload of ledger transactions into TechOne for all transactional bank accounts managed by National Storage.
- Lead the process of clearing reconciling bank items in a timely manner, in collaboration with the broader team.

**About You**:

- ** Proven specialist experience in bank reconciliations within a large corporate environment,**particularly with multiple sources of customer receipts and automated reconciliation tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and the broader financial reporting impact of reconciliations.
- Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable handling large transaction volumes, including reconciliation uploads and macros.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline or automate financial processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence in addressing discrepancies.
