About us As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders. QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities and many partners. Purpose of role The Partnerships and Sponsorship unit oversee the negotiation and delivery of partnership arrangements that provide ongoing support for our RFS and SES volunteer emergency services and/or other departmental programs or events, and ensures alignment with government priorities, compliance and benefit realisation that enables QFES and our people to support service and community capability. The team also document agreements and provide reporting to the Department of Premier and Cabinet for incoming and/or outgoing partnerships established for the organisation within the scope of the Queensland Government Sponsorship Framework. Reporting to the Manager, you will be a key member of the team contributing to, and engaging with corporate, community and government stakeholders to establish and strengthen partnerships that deliver valued and sustainable benefits to QFES staff and volunteers and foster community resilience. You will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting on identified sponsorship activities and events to ensure project milestones, timeframes and deliverables meet priority business, service, and organisational outcomes. Key requirements Highly desirable requirements - Knowledge and/or experience in sponsorship management. - Experience as a volunteer or with volunteer organisations. Special requirements - Capacity to work at night and on weekends to suit a volunteer environment. Your key accountabilities Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to: - Provide high-level support, fostering teamwork, and contributing to the implementation of appropriate projects, procedures, standards, and guidelines to deliver a robust and sustainable volunteer-centric model for QFES. - Liaise, consult and negotiate effectively with existing and potential sponsors, partners and stakeholders, including coordination of events relative to sponsorships and associated tasks to ensure desired timeframes, budget allocations and program initiatives are achieved. - Evaluate sponsorship outcomes against agreed contract deliverables, in consultation with the manager, and partner organisations to develop accurate reporting and effective administration of agreements. - Research internal and external factors which influence development and maintenance of sponsorship relationships, including risk and contingency management to address issues, and achieve positive outcomes. - Manage significant, corporate or tax deductible gifts and other donations made through QFES to ensure delivery and monitoring of agreed outcomes. - Provide timely and accurate advice and information to executive management to enable effective decision-making processes, using initiative to respond rapidly to challenges in a pressured and changing environment. - Prepare and review complex reports, briefs, submissions, and other correspondence or communications on a range of issues and opportunities relating to sponsorships and stakeholder relationships, in accordance with departmental requirements. - Develop and maintain effective partnerships across the department, government and industry and represent QFES on high level committees and working groups to support program activities and achieve positive outcomes.
