About us As a department our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service and the State Emergency Service, and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders. QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities and many partners. Purpose of role The Partnerships and Sponsorship unit oversee the negotiation and delivery of partnership arrangements that provide ongoing support for our RFS and SES volunteer emergency services and/or other departmental programs or events, and ensures alignment with government priorities, compliance and benefit realisation that enables QFES and our people to support service and community capability. The team also document agreements and provide reporting to the Department of Premier and Cabinet for incoming and/or outgoing partnerships established for the organisation within the scope of the Queensland Government Sponsorship Framework. Reporting to the Director, Community Capability and Volunteerism, you will lead and manage the functions of the team and engage with corporate, community and government stakeholders to establish and strengthen partnerships to deliver valued and sustainable benefits to staff and volunteers, and foster community resilience. You will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of projects, procedures, standards, and guidelines to support a robust and sustainable volunteer model for QFES. Key requirements Highly desirable requirements - Experience in successfully seeking and managing sponsorship agreements. - Experience as a volunteer or with volunteer organisations. Special requirements - Capacity to work on night and weekends to suit a volunteer environment. Your key accountabilities - Lead and manage the development and implementation of all sponsorship, donation, and partnership arrangements to deliver valued and sustainable benefits to QFES workforce. - Acquire new sponsorship, donation, and partnership opportunities in consultation and collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure alignment with government and departmental priorities. - Design, develop, and implement projects and associated artefacts, either independently or as a member of a team to ensure project deliverables are achieved within established timeframes and budgets. - Provide timely and accurate advice and information to enable effective decision making processes and use initiative to respond rapidly to challenges in a pressured and changing environment. - Prepare and review complex reports, briefing notes, project plans and other correspondence relating to partnership and sponsorship arrangements, in accordance with department requirements and governance. - Develop and maintain effective partnerships across the department, government and industry and represent QFES at committees, working groups and other internal and external forums. - Contribute to the development of team objectives that align with whole-of-government and departmental strategic planning. - Lead and manage team capability, fostering positive teamwork, through utilisation of human, financial and other resources, and assist in the ongoing development of staff through performance, planning and review.
