Brisbane, Queensland, Australia AWIC - Awesome Women in Construction Full time

Use your networking and business development skills to make a difference. As AWIC's Sponsorship Lead, you'll help grow partnerships that empower women across the construction industry.

At Awesome Women in Construction (AWIC), we provide a supportive community for women in the construction industry. We are a non-profit association dedicated to personal and professional development, confidence building, and brand growth for the organisations our members represent. Our members range from small independent businesses to global organisations and work for multinational corporations and state-based building companies.

Our vision is to have women leading, driving, and supporting the growth of the construction industry.

Role Description

We're on the lookout for a motivated and creative
Sponsorship Lead
to join our Board.

This is a
part-time volunteer role
for someone who loves to
connect, collaborate, and
hustle
— someone who can think outside the box to engage sponsors, build partnerships, and help grow AWIC's impact.

The Sponsorship Lead will be responsible for liaising with existing sponsors, identifying new opportunities, and securing both financial and in-kind support to sustain and expand AWIC's programs, events, and initiatives. You'll also ensure sponsors receive the professional recognition and benefits that come with partnering with our organisation.

This is a dynamic, relationship-focused role where you'll play a direct part in helping AWIC deliver major networking events and flagship initiatives that celebrate and support women in construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors and partners.

• Identify and approach potential sponsors, from small local businesses to large industry brands.

• Develop tailored sponsorship proposals aligned with AWIC's mission and programs.

• Coordinate sponsor deliverables, ensuring benefits are delivered professionally and on time.

• Collaborate with the Board to develop creative campaigns that drive engagement and revenue.

• Uphold AWIC's values and ensure all partnerships align with organisational policies.

About You

• You're a natural relationship-builder who enjoys networking and connecting people.

• You're confident reaching out to potential sponsors and pitching partnership opportunities.

• You're creative and strategic — able to find new ways to add value for sponsors big and small.

• You have strong communication and organisational skills.

• Experience in sponsorship, sales, partnerships, or marketing is a bonus, but passion and initiative go a long way

• You're a
financial AWIC membe
r (or willing to become one) and can commit approximately
5–8 hours per week.

Benefits

This is a
volunteer leadership role
— there's no financial remuneration, but the rewards are real. You'll gain valuable board-level experience, expand your professional network, and play a vital role in empowering women across the construction industry.

You'll also enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your efforts directly contribute to AWIC's growth and success — one sponsorship at a time

Time Commitment

Approximately
5–8 hours per week
, depending on the organisation's activities and event calendar.
