The Compliance Manager is in charge of actively assisting Heinemann Australia to maintain compliance obligations, adhere to legal standards and in house policies. In this role, you will be in charge of developing a comprehensive compliance & safety management strategy and its implementation. Also to oversee the risk management framework that provides operational protection of business and services through the provision of control, training, management and delivery of the ongoing governance requirements.**Compliance Manager**

Your new job includes
- End-to-end management of regulatory change including identifying, managing and implementing of new business initiatives to comply with regulatory obligations.
- Assist with compliance topics including but not limited to Customs, Border force and Taxation office requirements, Privacy, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, National Industrial Chemicals Notification Assessment Scheme and other Government entities
- Assisting with the co-ordination and drafting of answers to industry, regulatory and Treasury consultations.
- Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with breaches of license, legal guidelines and internal policies
- Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
- Provide health and safety expertise and guidance and direction to line managers, supervisors and health and safety representatives.

What you should bring along
- Extensive experience in legal, regulatory, or compliance roles in a highly regulated environment
- A degree in law or relevant legal qualification, and ideally 5+ years in a similar role
- Experience in working with regulatory authorities is highly desirable
- Excellent written communication and drafting skills, particularly in a regulatory affairs setting
- Analytical and proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel/ Word or compliance software
- Ability to multi task and work to tight deadlines
- Excellent relationship building with strong leadership and people management skills
- Self-motivation and initiative with an ability to work both without supervision or as part of a team
- Proven ability to problem solve
