This is an exciting and new opportunity to join the Support Group Compliance (SGC) team in Sydney as a Compliance Manager. SGC is a Line 2 compliance team aligned to the central services teams within Macquarie.

This Line 2 Compliance role presents a great opportunity to work with senior compliance professionals and key stakeholders to actively advise, monitor, review and challenge compliance risks. You will be primarily aligned to the Financial Management Group and will utilise your proven relationship and stakeholder management skills to advise, guide and get involved in end-to-end product initiatives, and partner on upcoming projects and innovations. This is a varied role with a lot of growth potential. If you have substantial compliance experience from a banking or regulatory environment, we would like to hear from you.
- Working closely with the SGC ANZ Lead, your key responsibilities will include:
Review of new products and transaction approvals where you will be required to advise on regulatory requirements and provide guidance on compliance internal policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain compliance plans, policies and procedures and relevant monitoring processes.
- Conduct monitoring, reporting and escalation of compliance issues and investigate and resolve escalation alerts.
- Provide advice on general compliance matters.
- Advise and assist key stakeholders to meet their compliance requirements including conducting assessment of business risks and control effectiveness and documenting the existence and adequacy of controls.
- Advise on new and changed financial services regulations and standards and assist Line 1 teams to assess business impacts and implementation.
- Perform targeted compliance risk and policy reviews and draft and assist with implementing solutions to process and control design.
- Incident and breach reporting and track identified control improvements and actions to ensure they are implemented.
- Contributing to ad hoc projects and reviews.
- Delivering Compliance training materials

You will have excellent relationship and communication skills, be naturally collaborative, process driven, solutions orientated, pragmatic and proportionate during your professional duties.

To be successful, you will be an experienced compliance professional with a proven track-record in, & understanding of risk management and the regulatory and compliance environment in financial services and/or banking, You will also:
hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Finance, Commerce or a similar discipline
- have strong communication and interpersonal skills, resilience and sound judgement
- demonstrate a high degree of commercial acumen and self-motivation
- possess the ability to deliver in a fast-paced, output focused environment
- bring a high level of energy and commitment to the team
- be collaborative, work well within a team environment and can work independently.

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Behavioural Risk, Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk, and RMG Enterprise Support.
