Job Title: DevSecOps Technical Coordinator
Department: Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO) Division: ICT Delivery Division Reporting to: Engineering Program Manager
Position Overview: The DevSecOps Technical Coordinator is a key role within the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation (WSO) of the Department of Defence. The incumbent will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and monitoring the planning, development, and implementation of DevSecOps technology and supporting the development of organizational practices. This role requires extensive experience in DevSecOps implementation and management within the defence and/or industry sectors.
**Responsibilities**:
- Commercial:
- Act as the primary point of contact and day-to-day manager for the Core Services Strategic Partner.
- Develop the Core Services Strategic Partner statement of work and integrate their efforts into broader WSO activities.
- Track, report on, and liaise with the commercial administration team regarding the Core Services Strategic Partner contract.
- Provide specialist advice in the development and management of below-the-line contracts to implement and support DevSecOps.
- Project Management and Reporting:
- Manage DevSecOps scope and schedule across the WSO, identifying dependencies, workforce requirements, risks, and gaps.
- Report on DevSecOps progress and performance of the Core Services Strategic Partner.
- Technology, Architecture, and Implementation:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve the WSO DevSecOps framework and processes to enable DevSecOps delivery across the Warfighting Networks and Applications Support Organisation.
- Contribute to the development of WSO planning and design artifacts, including architecture and design documents, operating models, and support system deliverables.
- Support technical certification, security certification, and accreditation processes as required.
- Support the adoption of DevSecOps across the WSO, providing education and support to beginner and intermediate DevSecOps practitioners.
- Attend forums as required to provide advice on the status of prototype tools and upcoming technologies.
- Business Analysis:
- Analyze and derive outcomes from Capability documentation (e.g., OCD, FPS, design artifacts).
- Liaise with Capability Manager representatives to ensure alignment in the interpretation of Capability documentation, objectives, and priorities related to DevSecOps and the Core Services Strategic Partner scope of work.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in DevSecOps implementation and management within Defence and/or Industry.
- Experience working in a technical regulatory framework comparable to the Defence context.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse stakeholders to achieve an outcome.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of JC2 systems, strategic networks, tactical networks, and ICT organizations within the ADF (fixed and deployed domains) in Joint Force operational environments.
- Experience with the Defence Strategic Framework, Defence Capability Life Cycle, and related governance requirements.
- Understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework, Public Key Infrastructure, and cyber worthiness principles.
- Experience with major capital acquisition projects in the Defence context.
- Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, software development methodologies (such as Agile and DevOps), test and evaluation in development operations, ICT governance frameworks, and maintenance and operations environments (ITIL, SIAM).
- Ability to develop technical requirements and statement of works for software delivery projects.
Work Arrangement:
- Monday to Friday business hours.
- Preferred location in Canberra, but acceptable if available to travel to Canberra frequently (at own cost) and access Defence Base for DSN (Defence Switched Network) access.
- Access to DSN and other classified networks will be required.
Security Clearance:
- NV1 security clearance with the ability to obtain at least a Negative Vetting 2.
