About the Role:

Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Technical AWS DevSecOps Specialist.

This is a long-term contract role initially until September 2026with possible extensions, located at our client's Canberra office with hybrid working arrangements available.

As the selected candidate, you will:

  • Proactively manage and operate deployed workloads in AWS.
  • Monitor, patch, and maintain backup systems and expiring resources.
  • Deploy workloads to production in line with change & release management.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd tier support and participate in on-call rosters.
  • Continuously improve CI/CD and monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate on design, testing, and implementation of enhancements.
  • Maintain operational documentation and support vendor/customer delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team culture.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Strong experience in AWS-hosted application operations.
  • Knowledge of system architecture and microservice design patterns.
  • Extensive PowerShell scripting experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#, SQL Server, Windows Server).
  • Proven ability to automate deployments and manage CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in agile and ITIL frameworks.
  • Ability to handle high-severity incidents in a 24/7 environment.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

It is desirable if you have:

  • Experience with Azure infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with Confluence and Microsoft TFS.
  • Mentoring and training junior staff.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.

Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with an existing Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
