ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking a highly skilled DevSecOps Engineer with a strong background in Windows, Linux, and cloud system administration. This role requires expertise in automation, infrastructure-as-code, and secure cloud operations. You will design and implement modern DevSecOps pipelines, integrate security into every stage of delivery, and ensure compliance with recognised security frameworks. The position also involves building and maintaining cloud and network environments, producing technical documentation, and providing support to operational teams.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Design, develop, and automate ICT systems with a focus on scalability and security.
  • Build and maintain DevSecOps pipelines and services to streamline delivery.
  • Implement and enforce security controls in line with recognised standards such as the Australian Government ISM.
  • Author technical build guides and operational procedures, ensuring approval and compliance.
  • Build, configure, and manage cloud environments, ensuring security and resilience.
  • Administer and support network infrastructure and services within cloud platforms.
  • Provide hands-on technical expertise and operational support as required.

  • Proven experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, Python, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Experience in developing and managing Standard Operating Environments (SOEs).
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and security services, ideally within Microsoft Azure (or equivalent platforms).

  • Expertise across areas including:

  • Identity and Access Management (IDAM)

  • Logging, monitoring, and observability
  • Backup and disaster recovery
  • Host and network firewalls
  • Proxy configuration (forward and reverse)
  • OS patching and hardening
  • Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)

  • Performance optimisation and network security

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and agile delivery methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles, testing, and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
